Hardwood Flooring

Solid flooring is when each board consists of one solid piece of hardwood. The most common thickness is ¾" and widths vary from two to five inches. These floors experience the normal expansion and contraction with changes in relative humidity. They are designed to be installed on or above grade (where humidity levels are more controllable).

We also recommend installing solid Hardwood flooring over plywood sub-floor in order to enable the planks to be nailed down using a two inch cleat. There are many wood species available such as Red or White Oak, Maple, Birch, Ash, Cherry, Walnut, Jatoba (Brazilian Cherry), Cabreuva (Santos Mahogany), Hickory, Beech, and other exotic species.

Here at Downtown Flooring Co. Ltd we carry a large assortment of prefinished hardwood hardwoods in both domestic and exotic species. We represent many manufactures which carry hundreds of stain colours and wood species.
